Human Rights Law

Our firm is undoubtedly a leading one in Senegal and the African continent in the field of human rights for its extensive expertise on this issue and its dedication to the fight for the human dignity everywhere in the world. The firm provides services to many institutions and individuals in relation with human Rights. The firm has been recently appointed by Open Society Institute to work on a research in the sector of justice in Senegal. The firm has also been often appointed by NGOs to represent victims of human rights violations before Senegalese and International Courts. The firm has currently represented victims in the HABRE case which involves the former head of state of CHAD charged for genocide, crimes against, humanity and torture.

Through this case the ECOWAS court ruled for the first time that the victims may be recognised the right to intervene in a case as third party.

Recently, the firm represented farmers who have been deprived of their lands by an order of a Council Body in the district of Mbour and obtained a decision from the High Administrative Court of Senegal (former Conseil d'Etat) quashing the order of the Council and returning back to the complainants their land.
