‘’We are currently atcing as Defence Counsel on behalf of a public company incorporated in United Kingdom, in a case pending before the Senegalese Court further to a plane crash occurred in 1997, on the grounds that it is the manufacturer of the engine. Further to an investigation report made by the Civil Aviation Department of Senegal, the claims against our client were dismissed on the grounds that the report concludes that the crash was the consequence of the negligence of the crew rather than a default of the engine. The appeal is still pending.’’
In 2010, we have advised Emirates in the process of formation of its Senegalese subsidiary and the launch of its activities in Senegal.
The firm advised recently, a ship owner company incorporated in Saint Petersburg, Russia on a case involving two Senegalese companies and a Charterer based in Rotterdam. The Firm initiated negotiations that terminated to a settlement between the parties.
