In 2014 Senegal’s first off-shore oil discovery was made, with GENI & KEBE advising the exploration company, a venture between Cairn Energy, ConocoPhilips and FAR. We also advise renewable energy operators and electricity multinationals in relation to energy projects, regulatory compliance, private-public partnerships and environmental approvals. In addition, we advise our energy clients on related corporate issues, such as corporate governance, project finance, tax, land acquisition and litigation.

• Representing Indian conglomerate Jindal Power in a USD 900 million, 350 MW power plant deal with the state electricity company, Senelec – the largest energy deal ever in Senegal
• Representing American Capital, the lenders in a wind farm operation in Taiba Ndiaye, Senegal
• Advising Caterpillar on the Engineering, Procurement and Construction Contract in relation to a Public-Private-Partnership to build a 130 MW power plant in Senegal
